We’re looking for razor sharp and witty freelance feature writers to join our online magazine team. Are you in the midst of changing careers? Have you looked over your current clips and realized you need to diversify? Are you a hard-news journalist looking for the softer side of your writing voice by penning feature articles? Or perhaps you just have a great hair story idea and need somewhere to pitch it?
My Salon Scoop (http://mysalonscoop.com) is the ultimate beauty matchmaker for women of color. Through its website, MySalonScoop.com creates a virtual hair salon environment that connects hairstylists to clients and consumers to advertisers.
We’re looking for writers across the country with one thing in common: the love of hair and the enjoyment of a good hair salon. We publish editorial content bi-monthly.
Requirements:
*2 to 3 years of reporting experience
*Interest in beauty industry is a plus
*Ability to work within deadlines
For consideration, please forward resume and three writing samples (including at least one news story and one feature story). Incomplete inquiries will not be considered.
* Compensation: $50 per story
* Telecommuting is ok.
