Job responsibilities:
- Assign and edit and/or write research-driven beauty, health and wellness articles
- Work with body of experts to publish their stories and mine them for original ideas
- Bring or form relationships with top beauty websites and magazines, scientific journals and publications
- Adapt existing written material for use on the website
- Keep on top of daily beauty news that would entertain readership
- Attend market events and manage freelance market coverage
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a high-energy environment
- Work closely with the team with strategic planning, development and growth of the site
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum five years of beauty editorial experience at a website, magazine or newspaper
- Ability to take an outside of the box approach to beauty coverage
- Experience or interest in writing about health and wellness
- Excellent web-writing and editing skills
- Experience with daily website programming and web-based publishing platforms
- Excellent people skills and ability to work with a small team of self-starters
- Strong editing skills and relationships with freelance beauty writers
- Established relationships with publicists and editors in the beauty industry
- Ability to multi-task while keeping an eye out for the details
- Organized and deadline-oriented
- Boundless energy and passion for truth-based beauty
