Title: Assistant Professor of English specializing in Linguistics and British Literature

Tenure track Assistant Professor of English to teach linguistics and an area of British Literature at the undergraduate and graduate levels in a student-focused department. The successful candidate will contribute to three growing programs: the BA and MA in English, and the PhD in rhetoric. Ability to teach Medieval or 18th Century British literature helpful. Responsibilities include teaching a range of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarly publication, service, and mentoring students. Interest in teaching online desirable. PhD in English, linguistics, rhetoric or closely related field required.

English, Speech and Foreign Languages serves undergraduate English majors and General Studies students with an emphasis in English; MA students in English; and PhD students in Rhetoric as well as a wide range of students seeking to complete Core requirements in English, Speech, Spanish, and French. Faculty in ESFL maintain collaborative relationships within the department and across the university. Further information about the department is available at
