Associate Editor at Award-Winning Vegetarian Lifestyle Magazine (Mission District)

Are you an editor with exceptional writing and editing skills? Would you like to work for a socially conscious, progressive, San Francisco-based business? VegNews Magazine, a national award-winning vegetarian lifestyle publication, is seeking a full-time Associate Editor at its Mission District headquarters.

The successful candidate must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, personable, and communicative. Candidate should have knowledge of and an interest in promoting a vegan lifestyle.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with Managing Editor on editorial for VegNews Magazine, VegNews.com, e-newsletters, and blogs
• Write headlines, decks, and captions
• Field inquiries
• Develop and present story ideas
• Research, write, and copy edit stories
• Attend events and publishing conferences
• Assist in the planning of VegNews events

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in journalism or English
• Knowledge of online/social media
• Knowledge of Word and Excel
• Strong writing skills
• Strong people skills and a positive team player
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Smart work, enthusiasm, and great ideas
• Knowledge of veganism a must

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). Salary depends on experience.
